The short answer

Mushroom tea may be an infusion, a simmered decoction, or extract mixed into water. Match the preparation to the ingredient, not just the word tea.

Different methods

An infusion pours hot water over material and waits. A decoction simmers tougher material. A blend containing both soft aromatics and woody slices should explain whether they are prepared together or in stages. An instant extract is a third product and needs different instructions.

Make a repeatable cup

Measure water and product, use a timer, and taste before changing the formula. Keep a note of the method you enjoyed. Dark color is not a potency meter: cacao, roasting, and spices can darken a drink without showing how much mushroom it contains.

Read the whole blend

A mushroom drink can contain caffeine-bearing cacao or true tea even though the mushroom is not a caffeine source. Sweeteners, milk, and allergens need attention too. Liona will not call an unfinished formula caffeine-free or assign preparation directions before its final ingredients are established.
